This page summarizes my usage of AI on this website.¹

I hand-write every post on this blog about things that I find interesting. I strongly believe that writing is thinking. I get a lot out of it, and I’m not interested in delegating that process to AI.

Tools I use

I use Grammarly to check for grammatical mistakes and typos.

I use ChatGPT to iterate on my post titles, because it’s great at summarizing things.

I sometimes use ChatGPT to identify weak arguments and exclusionary language in my writing. I want my ideas to have the widest reach and not be exclusionary. I don’t let these tools rewrite my writing, just point out shaky ideas and blind spots. I’d prefer to work with people to do this, but I write too frequently for that to be viable.
